For fighters and their gyms

You fight. We read the contract.

Promoter, manager, sponsor: everyone earns from your signature. We read what you sign before you sign it, and collect your money when it does not arrive. Your first contract is free.

Three rounds

The fight before the fight.

A worked example of a promotion contract for six fights. Fictional, but these are the clauses we see again and again.

round 1

How long are you tied in?

Options look harmless. Added up, they can lock seven years of your career to one promoter, with no say for you.

Three years exclusive, plus four one-year options. Two years, one option, only if you fight at least three times a year.7 years → 3 years
round 2

What do you actually keep?

A purse "after costs" is not a purse. Travel, hotel and medicals come off before you see anything, and payment takes two months.

€ 8,000 per fight, after travel, hotel and medicals.€ 8,000 per fight, costs on the promoter, within 14 days.€ 5,100 → € 8,000 net
round 3

Who owns your face?

Image rights forever means your name and likeness are still being sold long after you stopped. That needs an end date.

Your name and likeness, worldwide and forever. For as long as the contract runs.forever → limited
€ 17,400 more over six fights, and free four years earlier. You send a photo of the pages. Within two business days the red flags are listed, a lawyer signs off on the counterproposal, and you decide.

Then we work out when you can get out, and what it costs to leave earlier. Many contracts have a notice period or an end to the options.

Do you work for the gym or for me?

For you. Even if the gym pays for the package: the gym does not see your file and earns nothing from your matters.

My contract is in English.

No problem. We read Dutch and English, and check which law applies if your promoter is abroad.
